Ethos and values - It's All In The Name

Harmony

We understand the importance of working harmoniously and as a team with each other, our clients, suppliers and consultants. It's the only way we all move forward and has the nice side effect of creating long-term relationships with our clients and everyone else we work with.

Communication

Open communication plays a big part in our work: we close out every installation job, support call or day on-site with an email summary recording what work has been carried out. Where possible do a face-to-face summary with our client contact.

Timeliness

With much of our work, timely delivery of information and services is crucial and as a result we are very focused on the scheduling of events to ensure projects run to client expectations.

Ethical Values

Our values of fairness, accessibility, a supportive working environment and equality of opportunity mirror those of the not-for-profit sector that we serve. As an employer, we comply with all UK/EC legislation and endeavour to follow 'best practice' policies. From the very start our workforce has been culturally inclusive at all levels.

Durable Solutions

We promote long-lasting IT solutions, because the bottom line is they should provide optimum value for your day-to-day needs within your budget. This approach also helps you reap the rewards of investment in training and happens most environmentally friendly too.

Reliability and Consistency

For the last 3650 days or 10 years, there is only one number our clients have needed to dial for any IT issue. We take pride in this reliability and the consistent, thorough approach with which we tackle our work.

One Size Doesnt Fit All

What works for one organisation may be inappropriate for another with, say, a smaller budget, a larger membership, or a variety of interlinked offices distributed around the country. Out of the thousands of possible systems and software applications on the market, we bring you unique, best-value solutions that are in common use - the ones that most people are familiar with. With experience of a large range of not-for-profit clients, we understand that co-operation is the key - between us and you, between the components of your networked systems and between members of your staff, volunteers and trustees.

Walking the walk

Whilst many IT companies can talk about many technologies, we have a focus on actually delivering the goods, or ‘walking the walk’. The sheer diversity of our clients' cultures and IT requirements means we re-invest the experience gained from many types of software and setup.

Fit For The Goose

That is: we use what we deliver. Working with the same types of hardware and software as our clients engenders familiarity. It's embedded in our culture.

Anticipation

We put mechanisms in place both formally and informally to try to anticipate what your next IT steps for progress should be, and then offer these up.

Passing Our Knowledge On

Day in, day out, we aim to improve your level of IT understanding and how it can help you, via products phone enquiries, via on-site engineers and via InfoBulletin, our online magazine. All this in small steps - so that you can take it all in. If you can do tomorrow what we do today, that promotes your self-reliance and confidence. Moreover, we can concentrate on being anticipative rather than reactive and advising your organisation on its future needs.

Being Realistic

We realise that the Information Technology often fails to work perfectly and, while we are enthusiastic about IT, we are at the same time pragmatic and honest enough to ensure we supply a best-fit for your organisational culture. A highly-sophisticated network may not suit your needs and budget now, but we can help lay the foundations for a smooth upgrade if your organisation is going to grow.

Fresh Talent

Our programme of student training placements happens every year, and gives us the benefit of a new view on old problems. In exchange, students acquire down-to-earth troubleshooting experience by shadowing our best engineers in the field. Placements are encouraged to embark on at least one spin-off research project to stretch the boundaries of their knowledge and capabilities, resulting in benefits for them, for Co-Operative Systems and ultimately for clients.

Investors in People

We became ‘Investor in People’ accredited in 2002 and this reflects our commitment to ongoing staff development and growth.

"Consistently described as a well-managed company with excellent staff retention levels. Staff interviewed described an exciting work environment with which they want to remain involved".
Matthew Filbee - Investors in People Assessor.

Positive Spirit

We always try to look at things from a positive viewpoint. What’s the best way we can help you get on with your work?

Good Job

Not to be overlooked, we keep a couple of dozen people in employment, in work that both provides stimulation as well as a decent living.
